Pre-Owned – Vintage Kay K30 Single Cut – Burgundy Cherry

Classic 70s Soul with a High-Gain Heart

This 1970s Kay K30 is a fantastic example of the “Lawsuit Era” Japanese/Taiwanese craftsmanship that punch far above their weight. Finished in a deep, lustrous Burgundy Cherry, this guitar at sometime in it’s past had been tastefully upgraded with Dimarzio pickups!

The DiMarzio Advantage

While these vintage Kays are known for their great “vibe” and feel, their original electronics could be hit-or-miss. This unit has been professionally upgraded with a set of DiMarzio Humbuckers, possibly “Super Distortions”. These pickups transform the guitar from a vintage curiosity into a stage-ready rock machine, offering increased clarity, higher output, and rich harmonic content.

Key Features

• Unique Aesthetics: The deep Burgundy Cherry finish is rare for this model and highlights the vintage character of the body.

• Maple Neck: Unlike many traditional LP-style guitars with mahogany necks, the maple neck here adds a touch of “snap” and brightness to your attack.

• Vintage Feel: Features a comfortable, slightly chunky neck profile that fans of 70s guitars will love.

• Bolt-On Reliability: The bolt-on neck construction provides excellent stability and that classic 70s “lawsuit” snap.

• Upgraded Electronics: With the DiMarzios under the hood, this guitar excels at everything from classic rock to high-gain blues.

Condition Note

As a pre-owned vintage instrument from the late 70s, this K30 shows “honest play wear including some light bucklerash and minor dings” (please see the photos, which only adds to its authentic retro appeal. The guitar has had a lot of love and a setup to bring it up to todays playing standards.

Shop Note: This is the perfect “secret weapon” guitar. It looks like a vintage pawn-shop prize but sounds like a custom-shop beast thanks to those DiMarzios.
