Tanglewood Metropolitan Series – TM5 – Dreadnought – Natural

The Metropolitan Series TM5 guitar is designed for players who seek a bold, powerful sound paired with enduring craftsmanship. Built in the classic dreadnought body shape, it delivers impressive volume and projection, making it an ideal choice for singers, rhythm players, and anyone who needs a guitar that can fill a room with rich, resonant tone. The dreadnought’s larger body produces a strong bass response while maintaining clarity in the mid and upper ranges, offering a versatile tonal palette for a variety of playing styles.

The TM5 features a spruce top, a tonewood renowned for its bright, articulate voice and dynamic sensitivity. Whether played with a light touch or vigorous strumming, the spruce responds with clarity and balance. The back and sides are crafted from koa, a wood celebrated for its warm midrange, shimmering highs, and stunning grain patterns. To ensure long-lasting stability, the top, back, and sides are constructed using high pressure laminate (HPL), which offers exceptional resistance to changes in humidity and temperature without sacrificing tonal character.

A natural satin finish enhances the visual beauty of the koa while providing a smooth, comfortable feel. This finish not only allows the wood’s natural figure to shine but also reduces glare under lights, making it ideal for stage use. The TM5’s combination of spruce and koa yields a sound that is both clear and powerful, with the projection needed for live performance and the sensitivity suited for recording.

Whether you are a seasoned performer or an aspiring player, the Metropolitan Series TM5 offers a perfect balance of strength, style, and sound. Its robust build and resonant voice make it a dependable partner for years of music-making, while its elegant appearance ensures it looks as good as it sounds in any setting.
